The visual media’s favourite annual event rolls around again – fotofringe. For those who haven’t been it’s a low-key but fun talkfest for stock photography and footage agencies, as well as supporting organisations. This year Capture will be focusing on their new product DISTRIBUTOR which ensures rapid and effortless distribution of all digital assets and metadata to multiple targets – within 30 seconds of clicking the camera shutter, content can be distributed to social media desks!
Over 700 people attended fotofringe in 2016 and there are nearly 100 libraries exhibiting this year in Kings Place, which is the Guardian/Observer building near Kings Cross. It is free to enter for industry professionals; you also get a free packed lunch and there is a drinks party in the evening. A wide range of attendees include picture buyers, researchers and editors, TV production companies, designers, publishers, art directors, advertising creatives…anybody who licences visual media. Flora Nedelcu, the organiser, says, “Every opportunity starts with a conversation.”

Capture’s Managed Collections team will be at the show, mixing with the picture libraries exhibiting in the Battlebridge Room. Steve Lake, Head of Managed Collections and Felicity Bazell, Senior Account Manager, will be promoting the portfolio of image collections, including Aviation Images, The Magal Collection and Mint Images. They will also be talking about how outsourcing some or all of your picture library management can make sound economic and operational sense in these challenging times.
Abbie Enock, Capture CEO puts it like this, “In this business you have to balance the creative and the technical, what Capture does is create applications which manage the workflow as seamlessly as possible, leaving creative people the space to do what they do best.”
