The Team
The Capture team is made up of 18 dedicated individuals – as well as other close associates – who all bring invaluable expertise and experience. The management team has many years of very practical experience in digital asset management as well as photography, journalism and IT.
The team includes experts in keywording and metadata, digital workflow, digital asset management and of course software development – in addition to this, the Capture team includes two trained accountants. We also regularly collaborate with a network of consultants and industry experts.
The in-house LatitudeStock photographic agency provides on-going experience of the changing marketplace as well as an excellent test environment for the Capture systems. Key personnel are as follows:
Founder of Capture and CEO. Abbie has a background in professional photo-journalism, news and feature writing and editing. Since 1988 she managed Travel Ink photo agency (now rebranded as LatitudeStock) as a business partnership and then Capture since its inception in 2000. Abbie is the original creator, writer and programmer of Capture software – although nowadays this work is carried out by the software team.
Zoe provides a valuable external, independent perspective on the business and on the management structures and procedures within the company. Zoe is Director of Leadership and Development at the Institute for Government. She was previously with HSBC as Head of Leadership & Learning for Global Finance. Prior to that, she was Head of Leadership Transformation Services and then Head of the Executive and Team Coaching Practice at Hay Group. She has extensive experience of working at senior levels across the public and private sectors including top team and leadership development and coaching. She has been a visiting fellow at Cranfield University and a visiting lecturer at the University of Reading. She also ran leadership workshops at the World Economic Forum.
Clare was first introduced to Capture when she was a consultant to one of the company’s software clients some years ago. She joined the team in 2010 and brings exceptional skills and knowledge to her role. Not only is she an outstanding project manager with excellent communication skills, but she also has in-depth expertise in digital asset management, and holds, among other qualifications, a PhD in Digital Image Archives (Information Management). She has held many senior Digital Management positions, has lectured in Image Manipulation and also holds a degree in Photography and Multimedia.
Accountancy-trained Marina is invaluable in testing, demonstrating and training on the financial systems in Capture. Her knowledge and vivacious personality make for a winning combination in bringing the financial workflow to life.
Matt joined Capture in December 2008, after working as a web application developer for a leading UK agency. Matt has several years experience in web development, with non commercial experience dating back to 1994. Having worked through the dot com boom, Matt has gained invaluable knowledge of web systems from aesthetic design to hardware infrastructure and has experience working with both small and large teams to deliver projects from single page static websites, to large multiuser & multilingual systems for large organisations. From day to day, Matt can be found finding solutions and solving technical challenges, advising the development team or getting down to writing code himself.
Oliver has in-depth experience of all the software applications used within Capture and specific web scripting and development skills. He manages the Capture Web development and support as well as Capture’s internal IT systems. Oliver has a National Diploma in Photography and subsequently trained with both the London College of Printing and Corbis.
Phil has had several years experience as both a developer and project manager for information technology companies, working with major publishing houses on online dictionary and encyclopaedia projects. These projects provided a good background for his current work with digital asset management systems at Capture.
Robin has been a member of the Capture team since 2003. He has over 30 years experience in an international business environment in companies with a wide range of sizes and in different industries in the UK, USA and Canada specialising in enterprise creation and growth, change management and trouble shooting and strategic systems design and implementation. Robin is also a finance expert and trained accountant – and his input in developing, testing and training Capture’s finance modules is highly valued.
Stuart Cox comes to LatitudeStock / Capture with more than 10 years experience in the picture industry at leading agencies including Getty Images, Alamy, i love images, Photoshot and Imense and has served for the last four terms as a director of BAPLA Executive board. Stuart has a wide range of relevant market knowledge spanning a host of picture industry sectors including sales and marketing, technology, production and art direction, photographer rights, agency syndication, distribution and contributor ethics. He consults with a number of leading industry clients on a range of these sectors in addition to being a widely represented and successful photographer in the stock industry. He joined the team in November 2009 to head up the rebranding of Travel Ink to LatitudeStock.
Felicity has worked for the company for over 12 years, managing LatitudeStock (the in-house travel stock library), liaising with photographers and customers and managing the library sales and licensing agreements. She manages web-based photographic libraries for public organizations such as the Department of Health, the NHS in Scotland, and Ofsted. Felicity is an expert in metadata, and provides an in-house picture library resource for commercial publishing clients such as Macmillan, a caption and keywording service for several large national institutions and commercial clients, as well as agency distribution for several international collections.
Nick joined Capture in early 2012, after completing a year-long internship with The National Archives, specialising in digital preservation, digitisation, and online engagement. He has a background in publication design, journalism, social media, politics, and customer service. Tristan joined Capture in November 2012. He has a strong background in photography and associated services including shooting, retouching, website visuals, copywriting, and social networking. Bringing valuable skills to Capture, Tristan also has great experience of managing and streamlining workflows and image archiving and protection.
Cho is an outstanding developer who achieved an excellent degree in 2005 and has been working commercially on a number of projects since. She joined Capture in mid 2007 and her expertise falls squarely into the programming languages used at the company, where she is an experienced and efficient member of the team. Cho’s speciality at Capture is back-office development, majoring on finance.
Wei brings excellent skills in Capture’s core technologies and is a highly-motivated individual who enjoys exceeding targets. Wei joined Capture in early 2008.
An experienced book-keeper, Alison handles all the accounts work, including invoicing, payroll and credit control, as well as making sure the office runs smoothly.
Before becoming associated with Capture in early 2010, Karen has worked for the last 20 years at a multinational software company, the last decade in project management. She has also worked directly with customers to ensure projects meet their expectations and issues are resolved efficiently and effectively.
Justine handles first line support and is proving an efficient and effective resource in this important area. She is also a Capture client, managing a small library that runs Capture software, and therefore has very practical, hands-on experience.
Matt Spall of MatMouse Solutions is working with Capture in more advanced areas of testing, including setting up automatic/robotic testing of our systems.
